Raynham’s exemption FAQ lists the clauses without amounts and its site answers a Cloudflare challenge, so this entry gives the statute’s, read through the Internet Archive’s captures.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Raynham grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. www.town.raynham.ma.us answers a Cloudflare challenge that does not clear to curl or to the automated browser (issue #222), so the Board of Assessors, Veterans’ Services and exemption FAQ pages were read through the Internet Archive’s captures of March 2023 to May 1, 2026. The assessing department’s “What Exemption?” FAQ lists the clause exemptions, clauses 22, 22A, 22B, 22C, 22D and 22E among them, as “based on the personal circumstances of the property owner as of July 1st”, with no amount of the town’s own on it, so the figures here are the statute’s. The board’s page names Jessica Garcia the Assistant Assessor (508-824-2704) and Jenn Banks Oldfield, Sara Brennan and A. J. Andrews the members, at Veterans Memorial Town Hall, 558 South Main Street. The Veterans’ Services page names Scott Blake the Veterans Service Officer/Director at 558 South Main Street (508-828-4527), where the EOVS directory lists the same officer, and links the Department of Revenue’s veterans’ property tax exemptions rather than printing an amount of the town’s own. The page describes the town’s chapter 115 program, the state-sponsored financial and medical assistance for needy eligible veterans and their dependents. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through Raynham Veterans’ Services: Scott Blake, Veterans Service Officer/Director. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relativeClause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
