Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The relief is the State's, under Tennessee Code 67-5-701 to 67-5-705; the Tennessee entries carry its eligibility, amounts and deadlines. The Trustee's page lists the qualifying service-connected conditions: paraplegia or permanent paralysis of both legs and the lower body, the loss or loss of use of two or more limbs, legal blindness, "A total and permanent disability rating from a service connected disability", or a 100% permanent and total rating from being a prisoner of war; and it extends relief to the surviving spouse who was married to the veteran at death and has not remarried. "Determination of eligibility will be based on information provided by the VA through use of a consent form (F-16 or F-16S) available at the Putnam County Trustee's Office"; bring the death certificate for a widow(er). What it is. "Tax Relief is payment by the State of Tennessee to reimburse certain homeowners who meet legal requirements, for a part or all of their property taxes paid, and is not an exemption." The amount is set by the State each October; relief applies to one primary residence. Apply when taxes come due in October, at the Trustee or, inside city limits, at the City of Algood, Baxter, Cookeville or Monterey; the page says to apply "within 35 days of the February deadline". The page's income rules are for the elderly and disabled programmes, not the disabled veteran relief. It names no county appropriation under 67-5-701(j). Where. Thresholds for Putnam County Trustee: State Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans and Their Widow(er)s
GateRule
Permanent and total, as VA determines itThe State relief the Putnam County Trustee takes applications for. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
Or a named loss, at any ratingParaplegia or permanent paralysis of both legs and the lower body, legal blindness, or loss or loss of use of two or more limbs from a service-connected cause qualifies whatever the combined rating, as does one hundred percent permanent total disability from having been a prisoner of war. The state entry on disabled veteran property tax relief sets out the routes.
