Rocky Hill Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions

Rocky Hill’s property tax relief flyer gives a qualifying wartime veteran up to $3,000 off assessment and a disabled veteran an amount that varies by rating, with a permanent and total rating fully exempt.

Also called: property tax, 12-81g, veterans exemption, assessor, Rocky Hill.

For: Veteran or service member.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The assessor’s property tax relief flyer prints a veterans’ exemption of up to $3,000 off assessment for qualifying wartime service. That is the statutory wartime exemption of 12-81(19) at $1,000 with the additional exemption of 12-81g(a), which doubles it for income under the 12-81l limit; the flyer prints no income limits. A disabled veteran’s exemption varies by percentage of disability, and a permanent and total disability is fully exempt, the 12-81(83) dwelling exemption. The flyer also lists an active duty military vehicle exemption, one assessment vehicle for a member of the armed forces, National Guard, Reserves, IRR or retired reserve, and, outside the veterans’ programs, a $5,000 blind exemption and a disability exemption of up to $2,000, both above the statutory amounts. Rocky Hill answered OLR’s 2023 survey by reporting no municipal-option exemption of any kind, which matches the flyer’s silence on local options. No Rocky Hill ordinance or code was found.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
