A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Montgomery County Trustee: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Relief

HousingMontgomery County, TN · County

Montgomery County's Trustee takes applications for the state's disabled veteran property tax relief at Veterans Plaza from November 1, 2026 to April 5, 2027. The county adds no match of its own. The Trustee's page lists only one of the three ways a surviving spouse can qualify.

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The state relief the Trustee administers. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.

Montgomery County Veterans Treatment Court

MiscellaneousMontgomery County, TN · County

Judge Ken R. Goble Jr. holds the Veterans Treatment Court every Tuesday in Clarksville for veterans and serving soldiers whose substance use or mental health problems led to charges. Since May 2025 a defendant charged in a neighbouring Tennessee county can ask to move the case here. There is no programme fee, and completion can bring a dismissal or reduction of the charges.

A veteran or serving soldier facing charges, with treatment needs. The court takes veterans and soldiers whose substance use or mental health issues contributed to the charges, on the District Attorney's offer and the team's vote. Its published rules set no rating and no discharge bar; its fact page defines a veteran as anyone discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.

Montgomery County Wheel Tax: Disabled Veteran and Active-Duty Exemptions

MiscellaneousMontgomery County, TN · County

Montgomery County's wheel tax is $74 a year. A veteran rated one hundred percent permanent and total is exempt; the County Clerk asks for a signed VA letter. An active-duty service member stationed at a Tennessee base, Fort Campbell included, who is not a Tennessee resident can be exempted once a year with a recent Leave and Earnings Statement.

One hundred percent permanent and total, service-connected. Section 5-8-102 exempts a veteran with one hundred percent permanent total disability from a service-connected cause, as VA determines it. It is recorded rather than enforced because a former prisoner of war, and a veteran whose vehicle came with a VA adapted-vehicle grant under 38 U.S.C. 3901, are exempt at any rating.
