Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization is the county's veteran service office under 58-3-109. Its accredited officers help veterans, eligible dependents and surviving spouses of every era with VA claims: service-connected disability, the non-service-connected pension, survivor and burial benefits, health care enrollment, education, vocational rehabilitation and appeals. The office says its officers bring over 30 years of experience and more than 70 years of combined military service. There is no charge. Who it takes. Fort Campbell straddles the state line, and the office has served veterans on both sides. Effective March 1, 2026 it is temporarily not accepting new clients who live outside Montgomery County, Tennessee, or Christian County, Kentucky. Existing clients with a pending claim keep their officer. A veteran from another county can still call and be referred to an office nearer home. Where. Veterans Plaza, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 405, Clarksville, TN 37040, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m. Phone (931) 553-5173. Hector Santos is the director. The county budgeted $903,869 for Veterans Services for fiscal 2026. Events. The office organises the Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade, the Memorial Day ceremony and Flag Day. Recording a discharge. The Register of Deeds, also at Veterans Plaza, records a DD-214 free of charge, the only exception to its recording fees, and keeps it out of the public record: its FAQ lists the people who may see a recorded discharge, as 10-7-513 does, and the county's public computers no longer show military records. See the Tennessee entry on military discharge recording.
