A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Hitchcock County Veterans’ Aid Fund

MiscellaneousHitchcock County, NE · County

Hitchcock County’s section 80-102 Veterans’ Aid Fund has held about $5,173 since 2024 and paid nothing in 2024-2025 or 2025-2026; it budgets $5,000 of aid for 2026-2027, and the county’s page still asks for wartime service and an honorable discharge, tests the 2024 amendment removed.

Veteran, spouse, surviving spouse or minor child in need. Section 80-102 as amended in 2024: honorable or general service, a year in Nebraska and six months in Hitchcock County, and need the committee assesses; the county page’s wartime test no longer applies. No rating is required.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.
