Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Smith County Appraisal District: Disabled Veteran Exemptions

HousingSmith County, TX · County

The Smith County Appraisal District restates both disabled veteran exemptions - the 100% homestead for a 100%-rated or unemployable veteran and the partial exemption's $5,000-to-$12,000 rating chart - takes applications through the Comptroller's 50-114 and 50-135 forms, and lists what each taxing unit in the county has separately adopted for the ordinary homestead, over-65 and disability exemptions.

10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at a 10% rating. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.
