St. Lawrence County

Start typing a street address. VetTOC reads only the county or town from it and opens its page.

Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what New York provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

St. Lawrence County: Veterans Real Property Tax Exemptions

HousingSt. Lawrence County, NY · County

St. Lawrence County's veterans property tax exemptions are the State's local-option alternative, Cold War and eligible funds exemptions, filed with the town or city assessor by March 1; the county had not opted into the new full exemption for veterans rated permanently and totally disabled by October 2026, though a legislator raised it in December 2025.

Half the disability rating reduces assessed value further. The alternative and Cold War exemptions add half the service-connected rating, up to local limits; the full exemption, not adopted by the county, needs a permanent and total rating.

New York County and City Veterans' Service Agencies

Every New York county outside New York City must run a county veterans' service agency, led by a director who must be a veteran and VA-accredited, to help veterans and families with federal, State and local benefits at no cost. A city may run its own, and New York City does.
