Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what North Dakota provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Ward County Tax Equalization: Disabled Veteran Tax Credit intake

HousingWard County, ND · County

Ward County takes the state disabled veteran credit application at its Tax Equalization office on the administration building’s second floor, by mail or fax; its own page still quotes an older, larger statutory ceiling.

The credit follows the state gate: 50 percent or more, or the unemployability route. Section 57-02-08.8 requires a service-connected disability of fifty percent or greater, or an extra-schedular rating to include individual unemployability paid at the one hundred percent rate. The county intake applies the state rule.

Ward County Veterans Service Office

MiscellaneousWard County, ND · County

Ward County’s three-person office in the Minot courthouse annex assists with federal and state claims, and is the only door to the county’s military discharge records, which the recorder holds confidential.

Any veteran or dependent. The office assists veterans and their dependents with federal and state benefits. No rating is required, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.

Free help with a VA claim

A county veterans service officer, a town veterans’ agent or a state service office helps you file VA claims for free, most of them through staff VA has accredited. VA does not let anyone charge you for help filing an initial claim.
