Choose a level. County is what this county sets or runs itself. State is what Tennessee provides everywhere, including here. Federal is always last.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Weakley County Trustee: the State Property Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans and Their Widow(er)s

HousingWeakley County, TN · County

Weakley County’s Trustee (116 W. Main St., Room 101, Dresden; 731-364-3643) takes applications for Tennessee’s property tax relief, which a disabled veteran or the widow(er) of one who meets the State’s requirements can claim without the $38,470 income limit that applies to older and disabled owners; signed applications are due before March, ideally by December 31.

Permanent and total, as VA determines it. Weakley County’s Trustee takes the application; the State decides. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
