City of Lynchburg Real Estate Tax Relief for Permanent Disability
Lynchburg relieves real estate tax for a permanently disabled homeowner with yearly income of $50,200 or less and net worth of $100,000 or less.
Also called: tax relief, property tax, elderly and disabled, income limit.
For: Veteran or service member.
Where it applies
Written for the jurisdictions listed here.
Lynchburg's real estate tax relief is for a homeowner living in the home who is 65 or older, or permanently disabled, with yearly income of $50,200 or less and net worth of $100,000 or less, excluding the home. Applications come out in June, are due August 1, and are filed every year.
It is not a VA rating of 100% service-connected, and a disabled veteran who does not meet that test can use it.
Thresholds
| Gate | Rule |
|---|---|
| Permanent disability | The homeowner is permanently disabled, or 65, and lives in the home. A VA rating alone is not the test. |
