The Marshall County Revenue Commission publishes the full H-series rules: H3 covers owners retired because of permanent and total disability with no income test, proved by VA or Social Security award letters, disability income letters or two physicians, one actively treating.
Permanent and total disability for the complete exemption. H3 applies to owners retired because of permanent and total disability, with no income test on that route. Proof is a VA or Social Security award letter, disability income documentation, or two physicians, one actively treating.
Marshall County's Veterans Emergency Assistance provides aid to honorably discharged Marshall County wartime veterans - shelter, food, utilities, burial and medical needs - on the commission's eligibility tests (the wartime service windows, the 20-year Guard/Reserve rule, the widow-or-minor-child path, county residency, income guidelines and a required repayment agreement, with applications required to the other programmes); the county's Home Base Iowa package adds up to $2,000 in relocation assistance for a discharged veteran with proof of full-time employment in the county, applied for at the Veteran Affairs office at 101 East Main Street.
Wartime veterans with an honourable discharge, or their widows and minor children. The eligibility tests are the county page's own wartime windows, residency and income guidelines, with a repayment agreement; no rating is needed.
Marshfield’s Property Tax Exemptions page prints $411.60 under clause 22 and $1,029.00 under 22E for fiscal 2026, the statutes raised by the fiscal 2026 adjustment of 2.9 per cent.
A VA rating, a decoration, or a surviving relative. Clause 22 reaches a veteran rated 10 percent or more, a Purple Heart recipient, a Gold Star parent and the spouse or unmarried surviving spouse; 22A to 22E turn on named losses, decorations, a 100 percent rating or specially adapted housing. The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.
The Martin County Property Appraiser, 3473 SE Willoughby Blvd., Stuart, (772) 288-5608, takes the $5,000 exemption at a 10% service-connected rating on a VA letter dated within the past year, the total exemption at a service-connected total and permanent rating, the wheelchair-and-adapted-housing exemption and the 65-plus combat discount.
10% for the $5,000 exemption; total and permanent for the full exemption. The $5,000 exemption starts at a 10% service-connected disability. The full exemption needs a service-connected total and permanent rating. The 65-plus discount equals the combat-related percentage.
Full exemption from state, county, and municipal property tax on the principal residence of a veteran VA has rated 100% service-connected, permanent, and total, or permanently unemployable. The lot and a garage or shed used with the house are included.
100% permanent and total. The house must be the principal residence. The disability cannot come from misconduct. SDAT accepts 100% permanent and total, or permanent unemployability. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Mashpee’s assessors post no clause 22 amount, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.
The Mason County Assessor's page gives the 2027 rules beside the old ones: a veteran rated 40% or more, or paid for a total disability at any percentage, qualifies with combined disposable income of $70,000 or less for the 2027 tax year. Renew every three years.
40% service-connected, from taxes collected in 2027. RCW 84.36.381: a combined evaluation of 40% or more (80% for 2026 collections), or a total disability rating at any percentage; or age 61; plus the income test.
A dependent parent who takes chapter 115 benefits gives the town a lien on any real estate interest worth over $1,500. It is not enforced until both parents die, and it does not apply to the parent of someone killed in action.
Only a dependent parent, and only above $1,500 of value. Section 5A reaches an applicant or recipient who is a dependent parent as defined in section 1 with a real estate interest whose fair market value exceeds $1,500. Veterans and surviving spouses are outside it.
A town may double the veteran abatements, index them to inflation, extend them to property held in trust, and run a work-off programme worth up to $1,500 a year. None of it applies unless the town has voted for it.
None of it applies unless the city or town has accepted it. Clauses Twenty-second G, I and J and section 5N each take effect only on local acceptance. Ask the assessors which are in force before relying on any of them.
A veteran rated 100 per cent gets a $1,000 abatement and has to recertify every year. A paraplegic or blind veteran gets the entire domicile exempted and never recertifies. The gap between the two clauses is the sharpest in this file.
A disability rating of one hundred per cent. Clause Twenty-second E is the rating clause. The clause says one hundred per cent as determined by the Veterans Administration and stops. It does not name individual unemployability, which the motor vehicle excise exemption in G.L. c. 60A, s. 1 does.
A $400 abatement at a ten per cent rating or for a Purple Heart, rising to $750 and $1,250 for specific losses of limb or sight. These are dollars off the tax bill, not a share of the valuation, and they are small.
Ten per cent for the base $400 abatement. Clause Twenty-second (a). The rating may come from VA or from any branch of the armed forces, which reaches a medical retiree who never filed a VA claim. A Purple Heart reaches the same clause with no rating at all.
The Borough exempts $150,000 of assessed value under the State’s mandatory program and a further $135,259 for 2026 under its own (MSB 3.15.037), for a veteran rated 50 percent or more by the branch of service or the VA. Applications are due April 30 and need not be renewed; a veteran who buys a home mid-year gets a prorated exemption, and a hardship exemption caps the tax at 2 percent of household income.
50 percent or more, from the branch of service or VA. The disability must be rated 50 percent or more by the branch of service in which the person served or by the VA, with an effective date before January 1 of the tax year. A current rating letter must accompany the application.
Mattapoisett’s assessors post the Commonwealth’s Form 96-4 with no amount of the town’s own, so this entry gives the statute’s; its veterans’ services are its own Tri-Town Veterans Office, Christopher Gerrior directing for Rochester, Marion and Mattapoisett from Town Hall, and its own record of the section 5N work-off is the town’s outline, accepted at the May 2023 Annual Town Meeting, Article 23, up to $750.00 a year.
Maui County taxes the home of a veteran rated 70% or more for a disability from an injury on duty at a flat $150 a year, and the home of the unmarried surviving spouse of a veteran who died on duty the same, under County Code 3.48.475. File by December 31 for the next tax year; for the 2027 assessment year, by December 31, 2026.
70% or more, from an injury on duty. A VA rating of 70 percent or higher for a service-connected injury received on duty; the Division checks the rating with VA.
Maynard’s own FY27 Exemption Info sheet prints the statutes doubled under clauses 22 and 22E - $800 and $2,000 - beside clauses 22A to 22C at the statutes’ $750, $1,250 and $1,500, the same mix no option named in the section produces that Melrose’s page does, so its entry asks the assessors; the same sheet records a Veteran Tax Work-Off of up to $1,500 for fiscal 2027 at minimum wage, and its VSO is the town’s own Peter Harvell.
The McCracken County PVA, Bill Dunn, at 621 Washington Street, Suite 105, Paducah (270-444-4712), takes the homestead exemption for an owner classified totally disabled, and its homestead page says a veteran's VA letter must state a rating of at least 70 percent paid at the 100 percent unemployable rate; the page also asks for disability proof every December, which the statute spares a service-connected totally disabled veteran.
Classified totally disabled by a federal programme, including the VA. The applicant must be classified totally disabled for the whole year and receive disability payments under that classification. A VA total rating or individual unemployability counts; a partial rating does not.
The McKinley County Assessor in Gallup (505-863-3032) applies the State's veteran exemptions on the Department of Veterans' Services certificate, but every county page is out of date: they give $4,000 (one FAQ $3,500), a full exemption only at 100% permanent and total, and the July 2021 form. Since 2026 it is $10,000 plus an exemption proportional to any permanent rating.
Disabled veteran exemption, in proportion to the rating. A permanent service-connected rating; the share of the home's taxable value exempt equals the rating, after the $10,000 exemption. The county's pages still say 100% permanent and total.
The McLennan Central Appraisal District publishes no guidance of its own on the State's disabled veteran exemptions. Its forms page links the Comptroller's 50-114 residence homestead application, the 50-135 disabled veteran's or survivor's application and the Comptroller's disabled veteran FAQ, and its E-Services portal takes exemption forms online.
10% for the partial exemption; 100% or unemployable for the homestead. The partial exemption starts at a 10% rating. The total homestead exemption needs 100% compensation with a 100% or unemployability rating. The surviving spouse exemptions need no rating.
The McMinn County Trustee, Phil Tuggle, at the courthouse, 6 East Madison Avenue, Athens (423-744-1603, fax 423-745-1291), administers the State's tax relief programme for elderly and disabled citizens and disabled veterans; the application must be completed no later than 35 days after the February 28th tax payment deadline.
Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The State relief the McMinn County Trustee administers. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
The Meade County Director of Equalization (1300 Sherman Street, Suite 222, Sturgis, 605-347-3818, weekdays 8 to 5) - the office the Department of Revenue calls the county assessor - manages the county's tax exemptions and 'Veteran's property tax relief programs' and assessment freezes, with written appeals to the County Board of Equalization filed with the County Auditor on or before the first Tuesday in April.
Veterans and surviving spouses filing for the property tax relief programmes. The Director of Equalization manages the veteran’s property tax relief programmes and assessment freezes; the State entries carry the exemption tests and the November 1 county-assessor filing.
The Meade County Property Valuation Administrator (Gabe Chapman, 270-422-2178, at the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Brandenburg) takes the homestead and disability exemption applications under KRS 132.810 - the veteran's route runs on the VA's total-disability classification, with the 2025-2026 exemption amounts on the Department of Revenue's schedule.
Classified totally disabled by a federal programme, including the VA. The disability exemption needs the total-disability classification and the PVA’s application; a partial rating does not qualify. The rating filter never hides this entry.
How Mecklenburg County runs the State's $45,000 disabled veteran homestead exclusion: form AV-9 by email or post by June 1. Its page lists all three statutory routes, including a surviving spouse whose veteran died of a service-connected condition, but then says permanent and total documentation must be provided, which the adapted housing and death routes do not need.
Permanent and total service-connected disability. The rating path is VA's certification of a permanent and total service-connected disability, as of January 1. A section 2101 adapted housing grant qualifies instead, and an unmarried surviving spouse qualifies on a service-connected death; the rating filter cannot test those.
Mecklenburg’s Commissioner of the Revenue takes the statewide home exemption on the summary of benefits letter, a photo ID and proof of residence occupancy, and extends it to manufactured homes the veteran does not own the land under.
100% permanent and total. Mecklenburg applies the statewide exemption to the dwelling and up to one acre, and to manufactured homes regardless of land ownership. It accepts a disability compensated at the 100% rate. It does not add an income test. One path is a VA rating of 100% that is service-connected, permanent, and total.
Medford’s statutory-exemptions page on its medfordma.org site prints the veterans’ exemptions at twice the statute, from $800 to a full exemption, what clause 22J at 100 per cent produces, and records the council’s unanimous May 21, 2019 vote doubling them.
The Medina Central Appraisal District, 1410 Avenue K, Hondo (830-741-3035), takes the State's disabled veteran exemptions on form 50-135; its 2025 certified totals show 1,761 homes exempt in full from the county's tax for veterans rated 100% or unemployable, $725.6 million of value, and 1,440 partial exemptions by rating.
10% or more for the partial exemption. Tax Code 11.22 by rating from 10%; the whole homestead at 100% or unemployability under 11.131.
The Medina County Auditor takes the State's disabled veteran homestead application, DTE 105I, but its homestead page answers a Cloudflare challenge to curl and headless Chrome; the commissioners adopted the 319.304 local option on October 28, 2025 for one year, worth about $2,000 to each of the county's disabled-veteran households, and did not renew it.
100% service-connected. A total rating of 100% for service-connected disability, or compensation at 100% for individual unemployability.
Medway’s Assessing Department says disabled veterans "may be eligible for real estate tax exemptions" and posts no amounts, so this entry gives the statute’s; its veterans’ services are the MetroWest District’s, whose Medway hours sit at the Senior Center.
Melrose’s Real Estate Tax Exemptions page prints $800 under clause 22 and $2,000 under 22E, the statutes doubled, beside $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C, the statutes unchanged, and records a veterans’ work-off of up to $1,500 under G.L. c. 59, s. 5N.
The Mendocino County Assessor-Clerk-Recorder's exemption desk (707-234-6800) takes the State's disabled veterans' exemption. The Assessor's page still says it is worth "$114,634 or higher" and the Auditor-Controller's page "$175,298 or higher"; the 2026 amounts are $180,671, or $271,009 with household income under $81,131.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
The Merced County Assessor states the test correctly, a veteran rated 100% or paid at the 100% rate for unemployability, and the unmarried surviving spouse, on the principal residence; file by February 15. Its late-filing note puts all late homeowner and veteran claims at 80%, which is the homeowners' rule; a late disabled veterans' claim by December 10 gets 90%.
100% or compensated at 100% for unemployability. The State exemption needs a 100% rating, permanent or not, compensation at 100% for unemployability, blindness in both eyes, or loss of the use of two or more limbs.
The Mercer County Assessor's site (Tommy Bailey) publishes the homestead and disability exemptions - $20,000 of assessed value, new applications July 1 to December 1 - and the active-duty military personal property exemption under the 1940 Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act and Executive Order 9-88 (Code 11-5-1), with deployment-order rules and vehicle limits; the disabled-veteran credit rests on the State entries.
90% or more disabled veteran (State credit route). The State disabled-veteran real property tax credit under Code 11-13MM-4 applies through this office; the Assessor page names no county figure, so the State entry carries it.
Meriden’s assessor page gives a $3,000 base veterans’ exemption, $6,000 with the state additional exemption, and a $5,000 local option on top. The city’s Code § 187-26 sets the local option at $500, and OLR’s 2023 survey recorded no local option.
Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with a qualifying discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.
The Mesa County Assessor closed 2026 applications and reopens in January 2027, accepting late applications through August 1 for the following year's bill, at a 100% permanent rating or individual unemployability, with no online filing, at 544 Rood Avenue, Grand Junction.
100% permanent rating. One path is a 100% service-connected rating VA has made permanent.
Methuen’s fiscal 2027 exemption sheet gives $1,600 under clause 22 and $3,000 to $6,000 under 22A to 22C, each four times the statute, and $4,000 under 22E; the general laws’ local options add at most 100 per cent, so confirm the amounts with the assessors.
The Metropolitan Trustee takes applications for the state's disabled veteran property tax relief until April 5, 2027. Its checklist says taxes must also be paid in full by then, which state law says is not a condition, and the Mayor's Office page still prints a $100,000 cap the state raised to $175,000 in 2017.
Permanent and total, as VA determines it. The state relief the Metropolitan Trustee administers.
The Miami-Dade Property Appraiser's pages misstate two of Florida's veteran exemptions: they say the age-65 combat-related discount exempts "all ad valorem taxes", where it is a percentage equal to the permanent rating, and they ask a $5,000 applicant for a homestead and a "10 percent service-connected total and permanent disability", where section 196.24 needs neither. The office offers the State's DR-501V pre-purchase eligibility check.
10% for the $5,000 exemption; permanent and total for the full one. The $5,000 exemption starts at 10%, with no permanent and total finding under the statute. The full homestead exemption needs total and permanent disability. The combat discount needs age 65 and a permanent rating with a combat-related part, and is a percentage, not a full exemption.
The entire homestead comes off the tax roll, with no ceiling on value. Three routes in, and since taxes levied on or after January 1, 2025 the exemption continues without reapplying.
Permanently and totally disabled at the 100% rate. Section 211.7b(4)(a) gives three routes and this catalog can test two of them. The first route is a VA determination of permanent and total disability from military service with entitlement to benefits at the 100% rate.
An alternative credit computed from a taxable value allowance of $2,500 to $4,500 set by a table last updated in 1996. It reaches veterans with any compensable rating, and it is worth much less than it sounds.
Ten percent is enough, and the allowance rises in bands. A service-connected rating of 10 to 50 percent gives a $3,500 taxable value allowance, 60 to 80 percent gives $4,000, and 90 or 100 percent gives $4,500. A pensioned veteran, a current serviceperson and a widow or widower reach the table without any rating, so this figure is recorded rather than enforced.
Middleborough’s exemption pages name no clause amounts and its site answers a Cloudflare block, so this entry gives the statute’s, read through the Internet Archive’s captures.
Middlebury’s veterans page, kept by the Town Clerk, describes the wartime reduction - on the property the veteran owns in town, or the motor vehicle if not - without printing an amount; the assessor’s own page names no exemption programs.
Middlefield’s veterans page prints a $3,000 wartime exemption, OPM’s income limits for the additional exemption, and a local option with limits $18,000 above the state’s - $73,100 married and $63,200 single for the 2025 application period; OLR’s survey recorded $10,000.
Middletown’s veterans’ property tax exemptions under R.I. Gen. Laws 44-3-4, with the statutory figures for Middletown and the day each was read. Confirm the current amount with the assessor.
Service and discharge set by state law. A veteran of a war, conflict or Cold War service period named in 44-3-4 or 44-3-4.2, honorably discharged, discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, or still serving honorably; or the unmarried widow or widower. No disability rating is needed for the basic exemption, so the rating filter never hides this entry.
Middletown’s page gives a $1,500 wartime exemption it calls town funded, disability exemptions of $3,000 to $5,250 by level, the state additional exemption for lower-income veterans, and the dwelling exemption for a permanent and total rating.
Milford’s ordinance gives the dwelling exemption to a veteran rated 100 percent permanently and totally disabled or totally disabled through unemployability, capped at the city’s median residential assessment and two acres of land.
Wartime service or a VA rating, set by state law. The exemptions rest on C.G.S. 12-81(19) to (26): 90 days of wartime service with an honorable discharge filed with the town clerk, or a VA disability rating. Amounts above the base turn on rating and income. The rating filter does not hide this entry.
Milford’s assessors post no clause 22 amount, so this entry gives the statute’s: $400 for a veteran rated 10 percent or more, and full exemption under 22D and 22F.
Millbury gives 60 percent more than the statute: $640 under clause 22 and $1,600 for a 100 percent rating under 22E, with full exemption under 22D and 22F; ask the assessors for the clauses the page does not price.
The Miller County Tax Collector, Laura Bates, 400 Laurel Street, Suite 111, Texarkana (870-774-1001), publishes the exemption's rules: the Summary of Benefits letter by October 15, the home and up to 160 adjoining acres outside city limits, no Amendment 79 credit or over-65 freeze alongside it - and still asks for the letter yearly, which Act 876 of 2025 ended.
100% permanent and total, special monthly compensation, or qualifying survivor. The county collector administers the State exemption under Ark. Code Ann. Section 26-3-306. The disability test is the State test, not a county one.
Milton’s assessors’ veterans page prints $821.60 under clause 22, $1,540.50 under 22A, $2,567.50 under 22B, $3,081.00 under 22C and $2,054.00 under 22E, the statutes doubled and raised by the fiscal 2027 adjustment of 2.7 per cent.
