Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The route. The homestead and the disability exemptions are the State's, under KRS 132.810 (see the Kentucky entry on the programme and the amounts); the PVA takes the applications in the county. The Meade County PVA is Gabe Chapman (270-422-2178) at the Meade County Courthouse, 516 Hillcrest Drive, Brandenburg, KY 40108 - the county's directory lists the office among its elected officials, and the county's site carries the PVA under Land & Property. The veteran's test. The disability exemption's threshold is the Department of Revenue's classification - "classified totally disabled by a federal programme, including the VA" - and a VA total rating or individual unemployability counts, a partial rating does not; the veteran claims it on the PVA's application with the VA proof, and the homestead exemption applies to the dwelling up to the statutory amount for the qualifying year. The Department of Revenue's homestead page publishes the current amounts and the claim dates (January 1 through December 31 of the qualifying year).
