A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Washington Income Tax: None Until 2028, Then 9.9 Percent Above $1 Million

MiscellaneousWashington · State

From January 1, 2028, chapter 238, Laws of 2026 (ESSB 6346) taxes income above a $1 million standard deduction at 9.9 percent, with no military retirement exclusion; VA compensation stays out because it is not in federal adjusted gross income.

A non-resident veteran who meets the same test pays resident prices, and Guard members get free hunting licenses.

30% service-connected, or any rating at 65 or older. The rating path is a service-connected disability rating of 30 percent or more with a qualifying discharge.
