A credit paid to the employer, not to you, and for a disabled veteran it scales with the rating: your percentage times a $5,000 wage base. Get the voucher before you are hired.
Any compensable rating carries a credit, and it scales. For a disabled veteran the credit equals the percentage of compensation for service-connected disability as determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs, multiplied by the first $5,000 of wages. Thirty percent is worth $1,500 to the employer, seventy percent $3,500, one hundred percent $5,000. A veteran with no compensable rating may still qualify through the Vietnam and Korea era route or the Guard and reserve route.
Five or ten points on a passing exam score, and the categories are alternatives rather than additive. Any compensable service-connected disability reaches the ten-point category, at any percentage.
No rating needed for the five-point category. The 5-Point Preference turns on active duty service or on more than ninety consecutive days of active duty for training, with no wartime or campaign requirement. The rating filter never hides this entry.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office helps veterans it hires draw their GI Bill on top of salary through the corrections and deputy academies and field training, and points military applicants to the licensing route that lets some skip the academy.
Veterans hired by the Sheriff with GI Bill entitlement. A veteran hired into the corrections or deputy academy with remaining GI Bill entitlement. No rating is needed.
The same 128 credits or 8 semesters for the spouse, unremarried surviving spouse or child of a veteran rated 30 percent or more, or of one who died in service. Children must be at least 17 and under 26.
A living veteran rated at least 30 percent. VA must have awarded at least a 30 percent service-connected disability rating under 38 USC 1114 or 1134. This is the lowest dependent-tuition threshold for a living veteran in this catalog.
Full remission of tuition and fees at UW System and technical colleges for 128 credits or 8 semesters, whichever is longer. Post-9/11 entitlement must be used first, and a semester it fully covers does not count against the limit.
One of six service routes. Active duty during a war period or in a crisis zone; two continuous years or the full initial obligation; 90 days or more during a war period; an expeditionary or Vietnam Service Medal; honorable discharge for a service-connected disability or hardship; or release under honorable conditions in a reduction in force.

A permanent state employee in a reserve component. The provisions run to permanent employees. Project and limited-term employees rely on USERRA alone.
Not points. The 10, 15 and 20 point table in 230.16(7) was removed in the 2015 civil service rewrite. What exists now is a non-competitive hiring route for a veteran rated 30 percent, which no agency is obliged to use.
Thirty percent for the non-competitive route. A compensable service-connected disability of at least 30 percent rated by VA, or inclusion on a U.S. armed forces permanent disability list at 30 percent or more. Recorded rather than enforced because the late-application right in 230.16(7m) needs no rating.
A means-tested reimbursement of tuition after a term is completed, for a veteran without an undergraduate degree. The income limit is $50,000 plus $1,000 for each dependent past two.
Income of $50,000 plus $1,000 for each dependent past two. The combined annual income of the veteran and spouse. The department verifies all reported income amounts, and the figure is not indexed in the statute.

Wyoming National Guard membership in good standing. The gates are membership in the Wyoming National Guard, completion of basic training, good standing, and a 2.0 grade point average. No disability rating is involved, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.
A 5% scoring advantage for a veteran and 10% for a veteran rated 10% or more disabled. It is a percentage of the score rather than flat points, so it scales with how well the applicant did.
10% or more doubles the advantage. Every qualifying veteran receives a 5 percent scoring advantage. A service-connected disability rated 10 percent or more raises it to 10 percent, which is the lowest tier boundary of any preference in this catalog.
Full tuition at the University of Wyoming or any Wyoming community college for eight semesters within eight years, for a veteran who earned an expeditionary or campaign medal. It reaches surviving spouses and children under 22 as well.
An expeditionary or campaign medal, with Wyoming residency before service. The gates are one year of Wyoming residency before entering active duty, an honorable discharge, and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal or other authorized campaign medal. No disability rating is involved, so the rating filter never hides this benefit.
Yavapai County employees in the Guard or Reserve get paid military leave of 240 hours in two consecutive years under County policy 5.09, last revised in 2017. ARS 38-610 also caps it at three weeks of regular hours a year and bars charging the time to vacation, which the policy's wording on using accrued leave first does not reflect.
