Every jurisdiction in this catalog has entries whose figures move when a bill passes, whose act takes effect on a later date, or whose program is repealed while its agency keeps advertising it. This page watches each jurisdiction's law, follows a bill through its own jurisdiction's process where its stages are recorded, and names the catalog entries each instrument touches.
1 instrument in Vermont. Tracked across 51 jurisdictions. Every other jurisdiction on the board is still watched by hand.
A bill that died is listed only where a guide, an agency, or a news story has described it as current law. That is the failure that puts a number in front of a veteran which no assessor, registrar, or school will honor.
▲Expands benefitsOpens the National Guard tuition benefit to graduate degrees and to members who already hold a bachelor's.
Amended 16 V.S.A. 2857 so that an eligible enrollment reaches a program leading to a graduate degree, and repealed subdivision (c)(1)(D), which had excluded any member who had previously earned an undergraduate bachelor’s degree. A Guard member with a bachelor’s degree was shut out before June 27, 2025 and can now use the benefit for a master’s. Accounts describing the program as undergraduate-only, including the federal Army benefits library entry for Vermont, describe the earlier version.
