Benefits written for Turkey are first: U.S. benefits that apply only here, and host-nation provisions that reach U.S. veterans. VA benefits that apply abroad follow.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

MiscellaneousTurkey · Country

Retired U.S. military members and their dependents have no commissary or exchange privileges in Turkey, whether living there or visiting. Only people assigned or on temporary duty in Turkey may shop.

MiscellaneousTurkey · Country

Under the U.S.-Turkey tax agreement, Turkey may not tax U.S. Social Security, and may not tax military retired pay unless the retiree is a Turkish national or has Turkish immigrant status.

VA payment for treatment of a service-connected disability, and some associated conditions, while the veteran is outside the United States.

Service-connected condition. VA pays for a disability it has decided is service-connected, including a 0% rating, and for some associated conditions. There is no single combined-rating floor beyond that.
