Benefits written for Poland are first: U.S. benefits that apply only here, and host-nation provisions that reach U.S. veterans. VA benefits that apply abroad follow.

Show FiltersHide Filters

A filter hides a benefit only when that benefit has a rating gate and the rating you set misses it. A benefit with no rating gate stays on the list. No disability needed keeps only the benefits a living veteran can use without any service-connected disability rating: one that needs a rating or a disability, or may, stays off, and so does one only a surviving spouse or other family member can use. Who it is for means who can receive the benefit in their own right; a survivor is the family of a veteran or service member who died, and a child of one is listed under both. This is not an eligibility decision.

Polish Income Tax on Military Retired Pay

MiscellaneousPoland · Country

Under the 1974 U.S.-Poland tax convention, Poland may not tax a U.S. citizen's military retired pay unless the retiree is a Polish citizen or has Polish immigrant status. The convention says nothing about Social Security or VA compensation.

No rating requirement. The convention turns on the kind of payment, citizenship and immigration status, not on any disability percentage.

VA Foreign Medical Program

VA payment for treatment of a service-connected disability, and some associated conditions, while the veteran is outside the United States.

Service-connected condition. VA pays for a disability it has decided is service-connected, including a 0% rating, and for some associated conditions. There is no single combined-rating floor beyond that.
