Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Tennessee's disabled veteran property tax relief is a state payment toward the tax on the first $175,000 of a home's value; the Tennessee entries set out the rules. The Williamson County Trustee's Office "is pleased to administer several property tax relief programs offered by Williamson County and the State of Tennessee to benefit qualifying seniors, disabled homeowners, and disabled veterans", among them "State of Tennessee Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans and Widows/Widowers of Disabled Veterans". How and when. "APPOINTMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THESE PROGRAMS"; call (615) 790-5709. The Trustee's 2026 brochure: applications are made at the Trustee's Office after the 2026 bill arrives and "will be accepted until April 5, 2027 for relief on your 2026 property taxes"; "Taxes must be paid in full before application can be submitted." Trustee Karen Paris, 1320 West Main Street, Suite 203, Franklin, TN 37064. What the county adds. The county's own programmes, the Broad Base Tax Relief and the Property Tax Freeze, are for homeowners 65 and older, and the county's matching funds go to the State's elderly programme; nothing county-funded is published for veterans. What the page leaves out. Section 67-5-704(b) has three routes for the veteran: a named loss (paraplegia, legal blindness, loss of two or more limbs) from a service-connected cause at any rating; a service-connected permanent and total disability as VA determines it; and one hundred percent permanent total disability from having been a prisoner of war. Surviving spouses qualify too.

Thresholds

Thresholds for Williamson County Trustee: Disabled Veteran Tax Relief
GateRule
Permanent and total, as VA determines itThe state relief, as the Williamson County Trustee administers it. The rating route in 67-5-704(b)(3) asks for service-connected permanent and total disability as determined by VA, which a veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability that VA has found permanent also holds. It is recorded rather than enforced because the paraplegia, blindness and loss-of-limbs route and the prisoner of war route need no rating at all.
Or a named loss, at any ratingParaplegia or permanent paralysis of both legs and the lower body, legal blindness, or loss or loss of use of two or more limbs from a service-connected cause qualifies whatever the combined rating, as does one hundred percent permanent total disability from having been a prisoner of war. The state entry on disabled veteran property tax relief sets out the routes.
