Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The county's own amounts. The Tax Commissioner's own site, townscountypay.com, prints its exemption list on the General Information page, and the veteran rows read: "The Disabled Veterans Homestead Exemption is available to certain disabled veterans in an amount up to $50,000 deducted from the 40% assessed value of the homestead property. This exemption applies to all ad valorem tax levies; however, it is restricted to certain types of very serious disabilities (that are service-connected disabilities) and proof of disability, either from the Veterans Administration or from a private physician in certain circumstances. A similar exemption in the same amount is now available to the un-remarried surviving spouse of a member of the armed forces of the United States who was killed in any war or armed conflict engaged in by the United States." The page's tax calendar: "Property Taxes are due by January 10th of each year." Where and who. Tax Commissioner Michael Anderson, 48 River St., Suite H, Hiawassee, GA 30546 - "Office located in courthouse annex building"; phone (706) 896-2267, fax (706) 896-6980, [email protected]; "Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 pm (Hours may vary during the holidays...)". OFFICE LOCATED COURTHOUSE ANNEX BLDG", lists "Applications for Homestead Exemptions" among the office's work, and routes the county's own exemptions: "If you are interested in applying for the Local Homestead Exemption granted to Towns County residents, or for information concerning the additional exemption based on age and income, please contact the Tax Assessor's Office at the above number." A veteran files with the Tax Assessor's Office before the return deadline and reads the county's own amounts on the tax site; the State entries carry the statutes beside the county's printed figures, and the qPublic record-search site (qpublic.net/ga/towns) answers a Cloudflare-style block (403) to plain fetch and was not read (the gap goes to docs/COUNTY-REVISIT.md).
