Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Santa Fe County's convenience centres take trash on a bag tag or a punch from a solid waste permit, each punch good for five cubic yards. Three-, six- and twelve-trip permits are sold only to residents of the county outside an incorporated city. The discount. "Residents shall be entitled to a $5 reduced fee for the 6 Trip Punch Permit and a $10 reduced fee for the 12 Trip Punch Permit if" their adjusted gross income is under $24,000, they are 65 or older, or "They are veterans, as verified by the United States Department of Defense DD form 214 of release or discharge from active duty with an honorable discharge or of service-disabled veteran status by the Department of Veterans Affairs." The Treasurer's price list shows the result: 6 trips $55, or $50 for a veteran; 12 trips $110, or $100. Only one reduction applies, so a veteran who is also a senior gets $5 off the 6-trip permit, not $10. What to bring. Photo ID, proof of county residence outside the cities, and for the discount a DD-214, honourable discharge documentation or proof of service-disabled status. Buy the permit from the Treasurer, 100 Catron Street, Santa Fe, by mail (P.O. Box T, Santa Fe, NM 87504), in person or at the drop box, or online through Public Works (505-992-3010).
