Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Monroe County's Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business policy took effect January 1, 2024. Most County contracts, including construction and public works, professional and non-professional services, carry a six percent goal for spending with certified service-disabled veteran-owned firms. Which certification counts. Either the State Office of General Services' SDVOB certification or the federal Small Business Administration's SDVOSB certification. The SBA's veteran-owned (VOSB) certification, which needs no disability, does not count toward the goal. See the New York entry on service-disabled veteran-owned business certification. The County's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office runs the programme and markets certified firms to contractors looking for partners to meet their goals.
