Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

What is posted. The Area Information page of the Knox County site, under "Assistance Concerning Employment for Veterans", says: "Contact Jeremiah Beamer, Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program Specialist. Tel: (660) 785-2400. Location: Knox County Courthouse. When: 3rd Wednesday each month. Time: 9:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m." The courthouse is at 107 N. 4th Street, Edina. The page leaves the email blank and carries no date, and the State's job center pages could not be read to confirm the specialist or the day (they answer a bot check), so call the number before going. Who it is for. The notice lists who is eligible: an active-duty service member; the spouse of a warrior-transition patient; a veteran with a service-connected disability; a veteran separated from the military within the last three years and unemployed at least 27 weeks at any time in the past 12 months; or a veteran experiencing housing difficulties, released from incarceration, lacking a high-school diploma or HiSET (GED), receiving public assistance, or between 18 and 24 years of age. What the help is. Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program specialists are State job center staff funded by the Labor Department's Jobs for Veterans State Grants (see the federal entry); they give one-on-one career services to veterans with significant barriers to employment. The service is free. The 660-785 number is a Kirksville exchange; the county page names no office address.
