The Borough funds part of Kenai Peninsula College's student services through its postsecondary education appropriation, and one line of it is a Veteran Services/Financial Aid Coordinator for the whole college. The Assembly's adopted fiscal 2027 budget describes the job: the coordinator is the first point of contact for active-duty and veteran students attending the college, advises them on their VA and military education benefits, and helps them through the services the college offers; the same person is the college's financial aid coordinator and helps other students with scholarship applications. The Borough's money pays for the position full-time and year-round, $74,710 for fiscal 2027. Where. The coordinator works at the Kenai River Campus in Soldotna and travels to the Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer to help its veteran students and the staff who assist them. The Borough first funded a veterans coordinator at the college in fiscal 2014, as a new year-round 30-hour-a-week position. Use it for. Choosing and starting a GI Bill or other VA education benefit at the college, tuition assistance or other military education benefits for a member still serving, and the college's paperwork with the VA. The college, not the Borough, employs the coordinator, so ask the college's student services office for the current name and contact.
