Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Veterans treatment courts in Hawaii are State Judiciary programmes run by circuit, and the Third Circuit is Hawaii County. The Judiciary's page: "Veterans Treatment Court began in the First Circuit (Honolulu) in 2013 and launched in the Third Circuit (Hawaii County) in 2014. The defendants selected to participate in Veterans Treatment Court have all served in the U.S. Armed Forces and have experienced difficulties acclimating back into society." What it involves. Evaluation and treatment for mental health and substance use, help with housing and job training, regular drug testing, and pairing with "volunteer veteran mentors". The page's schedule (Fridays at 2 p.m.) and partner agencies describe the Honolulu court; the Third Circuit publishes no separate page, so a Hawaii Island defendant should ask defence counsel or the Judiciary's coordinator about the Hilo or Kona calendar. Who to call. "For more information, please contact the Veterans Treatment Court Coordinator Adam Nelson at 808-441-8914."
