Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The State rule is Arkansas Code section 21-4-102; see the Arkansas entry on military leave for public employees. Grant County's Employment Policy, codified as section 250.00 of the County Code (Ordinance 1981-004 as amended, last by Ordinance 2011-007 of December 19, 2011), paragraph 7(d), Military Leave: "Employees who are members of the National Guard or any of the reserve branches of the armed forces shall be granted two weeks leave annually. Each employee who requests military leave must furnish a copy of his orders for the personnel file." What it leaves out. The policy does not say the leave is paid, how it carries over or what happens on an emergency call-up; the State statute gives 15 days a year with pay, carrying over to 30, and up to 30 working days with pay in an emergency, and USERRA protects the job during longer service. Ask the County Judge's office (870-942-2551) or the officeholder you work for which rule your office applies. The Municode copy is the version current on October 14, 2022.
