Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Section 125.029 requires a county park or recreation department to give a partial or full discount on park entrance fees to current members of the armed forces, the reserves and the Guard, honorably discharged veterans and listed survivors; see the Florida entry. The fee. DeSoto County Parks and Recreation charges a "$2 Daily User Fee for Non-Campers" at Brownville Park and Boat Ramp, 1885 NE Brownville Street, Arcadia, a 75-acre park on the Peace River with a boat ramp, trails and a campground; its brochure repeats "a $2 entry fee". Neither the facility page, the 2026 campground policy nor the brochure names a discount for service members or veterans, and the county code sets no park fees. The county's other parks list no entrance fee, and its pavilion rentals ($30 to $40 a day) are amenity fees the statute does not cover. In practice. Bring proof of service (a DD-214, a military ID, a Veteran ID Card or a driver licence with the veteran designation) and ask for the section 125.029 discount; campground site fees are outside the statute. Campground (863) 491-5333; Parks and Recreation main office (863) 491-7507, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
