Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's; see the Florida entry on the local business tax. Collier County levies its local business tax under article IV of chapter 126 of the County Code. The County Code. Section 126-120 (Ordinance 07-51, section 10) still allows the veterans' exemption only to a permanent resident elector who served in a wartime period, was honorably discharged and is "disabled from performing manual labor", and only up to $50 of tax, the rest "paid in cash" and the receipt marked across the face "Veterans Exempt Receipt" - "Not Transferable". The proof it lists is the repealed section 205.171's: a government-rated disability certificate of 10% or more, a Florida physician's letter, a service officer's certificate, a pension certificate, or other proof the Tax Collector accepts. Section 126-119 adds the aged, disabled and widows-with-minor-children exemptions. Chapters 2018-80 and 2018-118 repealed section 205.171 and replaced it with section 205.055, which has no disability, wartime or dollar limit; the statute governs. The Tax Collector. The Tax Collector's website was not readable for this sweep - it redirects to a host that renders nothing but a consent-manager script and disallows all robots - so whether its counters apply the Code or the statute was not recorded. Bring the DD-214 and cite section 205.055. A city inside Collier County that levies its own business tax applies the same statute separately.
