Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Veterans Services Section of the Elderly and Veterans Services Division, in the Human Services Department, is Broward County's veterans service office; see the Florida entry on claims assistance. It "provides free assistance to veterans, their surviving spouses, dependents and dependent survivors regardless of age or other status". Services: fully developed and other service-connected compensation claims, non-service-connected pension, aid and attendance, burial benefits, appeals and referrals to community resources. The section also determines eligibility for the county's Disabled Veterans Parks Passport (see the parks entry). Booking. Central intake for all of the division's services is 954-357-6622 (TTY 954-357-5841), which schedules appointments at the county's veterans service locations; the Parks Division describes seven. The division's main location is 2995 N. Dixie Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Code section 4.9 of the Administrative Code establishes the division, and the County Code keeps a trust fund account (sections 1-611 to 1-615) for gifts to it.
