Broward County Paratransit: Half Fare to VA Clinics
Broward County Transit charges a paratransit-eligible veteran $1.75 for a paratransit trip to a VA clinic inside Broward County, half the $3.50 ADA paratransit fare.
Also called: paratransit, TOPS, Broward County Transit, VA clinic, transport, ADA, 41.04.
For: Veteran or service member.
Where it applies
Written for the jurisdictions listed here.
- Broward County, FLCounty
Section 41.04 of the Broward County Administrative Code sets the paratransit fares of Broward County Transit. An ADA paratransit trip costs up to $3.50, twice the full fixed-route fare. "Veterans Administration Clinic site trips within the Broward County service area for Paratransit eligible Veterans" cost $1.75.
Who. A veteran who already qualifies for paratransit, for example under the ADA because a disability prevents using the fixed-route bus. The fare does not depend on a VA rating. The trip has to start or end at a VA clinic site within Broward County.
Fixed-route buses have no veteran fare; a veteran with a disability or Medicare card pays the reduced $1.00 fare under section 41.01.
