Every jurisdiction in this catalog has entries whose figures move when a bill passes, whose act takes effect on a later date, or whose program is repealed while its agency keeps advertising it. This page watches each jurisdiction's law, follows a bill through its own jurisdiction's process where its stages are recorded, and names the catalog entries each instrument touches.
3 instruments in Maryland. Tracked across 51 jurisdictions. Every other jurisdiction on the board is still watched by hand.
A bill that died is listed only where a guide, an agency, or a news story has described it as current law. That is the failure that puts a number in front of a veteran which no assessor, registrar, or school will honor.
▲Expands benefitsOpens the 10-point state selection test credit to a veteran with an other than dishonorable discharge.
Amends State Personnel and Pensions section 7-207(c)(1)(iii) from October 1, 2026 so an eligible veteran is one with an "other than dishonorable" rather than an "honorable" discharge, or a certificate of satisfactory completion, naming the reserve components and the Public Health Service and NOAA commissioned corps. The same act extends priority registration, community college support, legislative scholarships and Public Service Commission and private employer preferences to spouses. The Department of Budget and Management’s eligibility page still quotes an older text of the credit. Approved May 12, 2026.
▲Expands benefitsRequires the state veterans cemeteries to provide an outer burial receptacle, not only a grave liner, at no cost.
Amends State Government section 9-906 from October 1, 2026 to define an interment location as a grave plot or columbarium niche and to require the department to provide an outer burial receptacle or columbarium niche, and a marker, at no cost with each interment location. The fee for a qualified reserve member equal to the National Cemetery Administration interment allowance in section 9-906(i)(2) is unchanged. Approved May 12, 2026.

▲Expands benefitsExtends the veteran state park day-use waiver to former Maryland National Guard members.
Rewrites Natural Resources section 5-1015 from October 1, 2026 around an "accepted entrance document" showing veteran status or former Maryland National Guard status with a discharge or release under conditions other than dishonorable, so a former Guard member who is not a federal veteran enters free, with the per-vehicle fee waived for a vehicle the holder is in. Approved April 28, 2026.
