SB 194 Rewrote the definition of "disabled veteran taxpayer"

Needs reviewEnactedScope changed

Signed Takes effect

Expands benefits Lets a veteran paid at the total rate through individual unemployability qualify for the disabled veteran property tax credit without a 90 percent rating.

The old definition required a person "considered at least 90 percent totally and permanently disabled due solely to service-connected disabilities." The new one reaches a person rated 90 percent or greater "or meets the eligibility requirements for individual unemployability." A veteran paid at the total rate through unemployability now qualifies without a 90 percent schedular rating. The Department of Veterans Assistance still describes eligibility as a 90 to 100 percent combined rating and has not added the unemployability route.
