Expands benefits Raises the disabled veterans property tax credit ceiling from $8,100 to $9,000 of taxable valuation.

Part of the 2025 property tax package that created the legacy property tax relief fund and revised the primary residence credit, this act also amended 57-02-08.8 to raise the ceiling on the disabled veterans credit from the first eight thousand one hundred dollars of taxable valuation to the first nine thousand. Tracked for the unit as much as the figure: the ceiling is taxable valuation, which for residential property is nine percent of assessed value and assessed value is fifty percent of true and full value, so $9,000 corresponds to roughly $200,000 of market value. Summaries that print "100% disability = $9,000" as though it were a dollar credit are describing the wrong quantity.
