Connecticut / State / 2021 Regular Session
Public Act 21-79 Brought an other than honorable discharge based on a qualifying condition inside the definition of veteran
Rewrote section 27-103 so that a person released with an other than honorable discharge based on a qualifying condition is a veteran for the general statutes. A qualifying condition is a VA-facility diagnosis of PTSD or traumatic brain injury, a disclosed experience of military sexual trauma, or a determination that sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression was more likely than not the primary reason for the discharge. Because every Connecticut benefit in this catalog keys off that definition, the act reaches all of them at once.
