Yuma County Assessor: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption

The Yuma County Assessor takes the State exemption on the Affidavit of Individual Tax Exemption (form 82514) with a disability certification, and lists a military non-resident affidavit (82515) beside it. Its own guidelines document, read live in a browser on October 12, 2026, carries the county's 2026 figures: a $4,873 maximum exemption, a $39,865 income limit ($47,826 with minor children) and a $36,454 primary-assessed-value ceiling, filed between the first working day of January and March 1.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The exemption is the State's, under ARS 42-11111; the Arizona entry gives the tax year 2026 text and the changes House Bill 4168 makes from tax year 2027. The Yuma County Assessor decides claims in the county. What the Assessor lists. The office's forms page carries the Affidavit of Individual Tax Exemption (form 82514), a Certificate of Disability on Department of Revenue form 82514B, a Disability Certification Form for Tax Property Exemption, and a Military Non-Resident Exemption Affidavit on form 82515, alongside a "Guidelines for Exemption & Senior Freeze Programs" document. What the county's own guidelines say. The Assessor's "Guidelines for Exemption & Senior Freeze Programs" PDF was read live on October 12, 2026 (the site still answers 403 to plain fetches, so the read went through a browser) for the 2026 filing period. It states the county's figures: the maximum allowable exemption is $4,873 of assessed valuation; total income from all sources may not exceed $39,865, or $47,826 if the claimant has minor-aged children residing with them; and the total primary assessed value of the property may not exceed $36,454, which the document says will typically allow owners of up to about $364,540 in limited property value. Affidavits for exemption are filed between the first working day of January and March 1 each year; a person who fails to file during the period waives the right to exemption. A first-time claimant appears before the assessor to make the affidavit; in later years the affidavit may be witnessed by a notary public. The income definition leaves out federal social security, railroad retirement, unemployment, workers compensation and - the point for a veteran - veterans disability pensions. The Assessor's Office is at 197 S. Main Street, Suite 201, Yuma, AZ 85364; (928) 373-6040, fax (928) 373-6041, [email protected]; the elected Assessor is Steven Seale.
