Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

York County publishes no veterans service office of its own; its site names no such department, and its commissioners' year of agendas, supporting documents and approved minutes carries no veteran item, only a transportation briefing noting that the York County Community Action Corporation's York County Transport Program provides medical transportation "primarily for veterans and older adults", and a commissioner's remark in a homelessness debate that she is concerned the county's homeless people, veterans and those with mental health issues will not be prioritized. Neither is a county benefit. The claims route the State publishes runs through the Bureau of Veterans' Services, whose Springvale Field Office is the one office of the Bureau whose locations page names a service area, and it names this county: "Springvale Field Office, Service Area: York County". The office is at 634 Main Street, Springvale, ME 04083, phone (207) 324-1839, fax (207) 324-2763, email [email protected], office hours Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Bureau's service officers help veterans file claims for federal and state benefits; the Bureau's own pages describe the documents needed, the pre-discharge claims process and what happens after a claim is decided. A York County veteran who wants in-person help starts here. The county's registry of deeds publishes no discharge-recording line on its readable pages, and the State's confidentiality rule for military discharge documents filed with a county agency is carried by the State entry, not by the county.
