The record. The Board's 35 sets of minutes of October 6, 2025 through August 17, 2026 (2025 and 2026 listed separately in the Agenda Center) carry: - December 15, 2025: Pete Knight of the Veterans Council presented its fundraiser for the Lance Corporal Daniel Freeman Swaim Memorial Scholarship Fund, set up after the Marine was killed in Iraq on November 10, 2005: "They award five scholarships each year", raising "over $130,000.00" and sending "over 90 students to college", with the 2026 drawdown on February 28, 2026 at the Moose Lodge. Mr. Knight told the Board the county has three veteran organizations, two American Legion posts and one VFW post. - May 5, 2026 (budget workshop): "The Assistant Veteran Services Officer position is being reclassified to a Veteran Services Officer and he will become the Director of the Department" - the only change to the office's requested budget. - July 20, 2026: the manager's contracts include "The Tyler Technologies VetraSpec contract ... for the software that the Veteran Services Office uses. It provides them with a secure connection to the VA network." The county closed its offices for Veterans Day on November 11, 2025. No other veteran item was found, and no veteran benefit was adopted, narrowed or repealed; minutes after August 17, 2026 are not yet posted.
