Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

In Wythe County the Commissioner of the Revenue, Adam Linkous, at 290 South Sixth Street, Suite 275, Wytheville (276-223-6015, fax 276-223-6047; real estate deputies at 276-223-6016 and 276-223-6019), takes the statewide disabled-veteran real estate exemption; office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The county publishes no separate disabled-veteran page, so the state entries govern the documentation. The 2026 real estate rate is $0.51 per $100, on the county's Budget page ("Tax Rates for Calendar Year 2026") and in the June 9, 2026 budget resolution: "a tax of $0.51 on each $100.00 of assessed value of real estate and improvements situated thereon in the County". The May 26, 2026 public-hearing table shows the rate unchanged from 2025. Taxes are due December 5 each year, on the county's Wythe County Taxes page and the Commissioner's own important-dates list. A veteran who is permanently and totally disabled but does not meet this VA test can use the county's elderly and disabled relief instead.
