Wrentham Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

Wrentham’s assessors name personal exemptions among the office’s responsibilities and print no amounts, so this entry gives the statute’s; its veterans’ services are the District of North Attleborough, Plainville and Wrentham’s department, where the EOVS directory names Scott Smith.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, Wrentham.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Wrentham grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. The Assessors’ page names Thomas DiPlacido, Edward O’Neil and Irene Levesque the members, with Liz Obringer the Data Collector and Jess Ross the Administrative Assistant, at Town Hall, 79 South Street (508-384-5408), and lists "personal exemptions, property abatements" among the office’s responsibilities, printing no amount of the town’s own; its Applications & Forms links carry no veteran exemption form, and no acceptance of clause 22I or 22J was found on the town’s site, so the figures here are the statute’s. The town’s code of ordinances sits on ecode360.com, which answers 403 to curl. The town’s Veterans Services page is the district’s own: the District of North Attleborough, Plainville and Wrentham Veterans’ Services Department "provides support to Veterans and their Families in the towns of North Attleborough, Plainville, and Wrentham", whether the benefit is "from the state of Massachusetts under Mass. General Law, Chapter 115, or ... federal benefits from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs", with its Veterans’ Advisory Board meeting at 451 Elm Street, North Attleborough, on the second Monday of the month. The page names the Wrentham members Jerry McGovern and Ray Rose, lists the local veterans’ organizations’ meeting nights - American Legion Post 225 at 592 South Street, Wrentham, Thursdays, beside the North Attleborough posts - and notes Wrentham, Plainville and North Attleborough are Purple Heart communities; it names no agent, where the EOVS directory’s September 7, 2026 row names Scott Smith on the Wrentham row at 451 Elm Street, North Attleboro (508-699-0100, extension 2582), the North Attleborough row’s officer. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through District of North Attleborough, Plainville and Wrentham Veterans’ Services Department (EOVS directory: Scott Smith). Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
