The rules are the State's (Local Government Code 192.002 and Government Code 552.140; see the Texas entries). The County Clerk's 2024 fee schedule for real property and vital records (in force January 1, 2024) lists for the discharge: "FILING - Local Government Code §192.002(b) - No Charge" and "CERTIFIED COPY - Texas Government Code § 603.003(a) - No Charge". What the Clerk does not publish. The Clerk's pages carry no discharge request form or page of their own; ask the office who may get a copy (the veteran, a spouse or child, an heir or agent, and the others section 552.140 names) and what identification to bring. The Veterans Service Office's page sends routine requests for a lost DD-214 to the National Archives. Where.
