Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The assessor’s veterans’ exemptions page tops its forms with the Form D-2 application for a permanently and totally disabled veteran’s 100 percent service-connected disability rating tax exemption, and prints the combat-period basic exemption at $3,000 on a DD-214 filed with the Town Clerk prior to October 1. Veterans with a disability rating of at least 10 percent qualify for increased benefits on an annual VA verification letter presented to the assessor by October 1. The additional veteran’s exemption doubles the $3,000 to $6,000 for income-qualified veterans or widows and widowers of a combat-period veteran - the 2025 income limits are $56,500 married and $46,300 single, the limits for the 2026 grand list, refiled every second year between February 1 and October 1. The Wolcott local option to the additional veteran’s exemption provides “an additional $10,000 exemption” for residents who qualify for the additional veteran’s exemption, with the same income requirements and the same February 1 through October 1 application period. OLR’s 2023 survey also recorded Wolcott as offering the 12-81g(b) tripling for a veteran rated 100 percent, though the page applies the 12-81g(a) doubling at the state limits, and the veterans’ primary residence option of 12-81kk and the specially equipped motor vehicle of 12-81h, for which the town gave no percentage in its response. The town’s former domain wolcottct.com is now a for-sale page; its site is www.wolcottct.org.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
