Wilmington Veterans’ Property Tax Exemptions (Clauses 22 to 22F)

Wilmington’s pages print no clause amounts and its site answers a Cloudflare challenge, so this entry gives the statute’s, read through the Internet Archive’s captures.

Also called: property tax, clause 22, 22E, veterans exemption, assessors, Wilmington.

For: Veteran or service member, spouse, survivor.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The Town of Wilmington grants the veterans’ exemptions of G.L. c. 59, s. 5, clauses 22 to 22F, through its board of assessors. The statute sets them as dollars off the tax bill, $400 under clause 22, $750, $1,250 and $1,500 under 22A to 22C and $1,000 under 22E, and exempts the whole domicile under 22D and 22F; a town can add to them only by accepting a local option, clause 22I, clause 22J or section 5C½. Every figure on this entry carries its source and the day it was read. www.wilmingtonma.gov answers a Cloudflare challenge that does not clear to curl or a visible Chrome window and the apex wilmingtonma.gov fails TLS with a certificate error (issue #197), so the Assessor’s Office and Veterans pages were read through the Internet Archive’s captures of January 8, 2026 and February 25, 2025. The Assessor’s Office page names Karen Rassias, MAA the Principal Assessor and George W. Hooper, II and Matthew Belletete the board members at Town Hall, 121 Glen Road, Room 2 (978-658-3675), and links an Exemptions form with no amount of the town’s own on the page, so the figures here are the statute’s. The Veterans page names Louis Cimaglia IV the Director, Michael Frotten the Veterans Agent and Patti Meehan the Case Worker, with the office at Little West School, 141 Shawsheen Avenue, and mail to 121 Glen Road (office 978-694-2040, cell 978-404-0435), where the EOVS directory lists Michael Frotten at Town Hall, 121 Glen Road, with the same office phone. The page lists Chapter 115 and tax exemptions among the services offered for eligible veterans and their dependents. Chapter 115 benefits, the Commonwealth’s needs-based help with rent, food, fuel and medical costs, are applied for through Wilmington Veterans: Michael Frotten, Veterans Agent. Their amounts are set by the Commonwealth and are the same in every city and town; the statewide chapter 115 entry describes them.

The rating filter does not hide this entry, because several routes need no rating.

Figures

Each figure is dated with the day it was read. A local figure moves whenever the statute or the local ordinance does, so confirm it with the office that grants it before you rely on it. Statute verified gives the day the weekly section check last found the statute standing on the legislature’s own code site; a figure without it rests on a statute the check does not read yet.
