White Pine County Assessor: Veterans' and Disabled Veterans' Exemptions
The White Pine County Assessor in Ely administers the State's exemptions, and its Exemption Programs page carries the DD-214 and VA-percentage requirements - but still prints an earlier year's amounts ($3,340 and $16,700 to $33,400), so the 2026-27 figures rest on the Nevada entries.
Also called: property tax, assessor, NRS 361.090, NRS 361.091, Ely, stale amounts, surviving spouse, DD214.
The exemptions are the State's, under NRS 361.090 for a veteran who served in a listed period or campaign and NRS 361.091 for a permanent service-connected disability of 60% or more; the Nevada entries explain them, including the rule that separate ratings are added together. The White Pine County Assessor administers them in Ely.
What the county's Exemption Programs page prints (read 2026-10-26). The eligibility is the State's: the 90-continuous-days test with the listed periods from the Spanish-American War through December 20, 1996, Public Law 102-1 service and campaign or expedition service with a medal; a valid Nevada driver licence or ID; the DD214, honorable discharge paper, certificate of satisfactory service or separation documents; a Leave and Earnings Statement showing Nevada as home of record for a still-serving member; and, for the disabled veteran exemption, "documentation of the percentage of permanent service-connected disability from the Veteran's Administration or from the Armed Forces of the United States", with the benefit succeeding to the surviving spouse of a disabled veteran eligible at death. The Veteran, Disabled Veteran, Surviving Spouse and Blind Persons forms are posted as PDFs.
The amounts are the trap. The page prints "The Veteran's exemption is in the amount of $3,340 assessed value" and a disabled veteran range "from $16,700 to a maximum of $33,400 assessed value" - an earlier year's figures. The State's 2026-27 amounts are $3,640 and $18,200, $27,300 and $36,400, and they are what govern this year; the Nevada entries carry them. A veteran reading the county's page should claim against the State's current figures, not the page's.
