Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

Volunteer drivers run a van to both VA Pittsburgh medical facilities, first come, first served. A caregiver may ride if space allows and their help is medically necessary. Routes. Central Westmoreland: Monday, Thursday and Friday. Northwest Westmoreland: Thursday, picking up at the magisterial district court, 4066 Route 66, Apollo, and in New Kensington. Donegal: Thursday and Friday, from American Legion Post 941, 3812 Route 31; this route is booked through Somerset County Veterans Affairs, 814-445-1551. How to book. Call the county veterans office at 724-830-3530, option 1, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at least a week ahead. Make the VA appointment between 9 a.m. and noon so the van avoids rush hour; an appointment between noon and 1 p.m. is considered case by case for clinics with short hours. A no-show, or a cancellation less than 24 hours ahead, can cost future rides.
