42nd Judicial Circuit Veterans Treatment Court (Wayne, Iron and Reynolds Counties)

Wayne, Iron and Reynolds counties are in the 42nd Judicial Circuit (Crawford, Dent, Iron, Reynolds, Wayne), and the Office of State Courts Administrator's veterans treatment court map (January 2024) shades those three as running a Veterans Treatment Court Program, so this entry carries all three; the circuit publishes no rules or contact, so ask a defence lawyer or the Circuit Clerk in Greenville, Ironton or Centerville (573-648-2494, ext. 34).

Also called: veterans treatment court, VTC, treatment court, 42nd Judicial Circuit, 478.001, Circuit Clerk, Iron County, Reynolds County, 573-224-5600, Greenville, Piedmont, Williamsville, Mill Spring, Patterson, Lowndes, Shook, Silva, Wappapello, Ironton, Arcadia, Pilot Knob, 573-546-2511, Centerville, Ellington, Lesterville, 573-648-2494.

Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

What is published. The Office of State Courts Administrator's map of veterans treatment courts, updated January 2024 and read through the Internet Archive's capture because courts.mo.gov refuses automated fetches (rendered and checked for this round), shades Wayne, Iron and Reynolds counties in the 42nd Judicial Circuit as running a "Veterans Treatment Court Program"; Crawford and Dent, the circuit's other two counties, are not shaded. In the map's words: "Veterans Treatment Court focuses on addressing the substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, or mental health disorders of defendants charged with a criminal offense who are military veterans or current military personnel." Missouri treatment courts sit under Revised Statutes 478.001; see the Missouri entry. This entry rests on that archived map: no page or order of the circuit's own naming the veterans docket could be read, Wayne County has no website to post minutes or a budget, and the Dent County Circuit Clerk's page, which the Dent entry read, lists a Drug Court and no veterans docket, so ask whether the docket is still running. What is not. Nothing read names the court's judge, coordinator, schedule or eligibility. A veteran facing charges in Wayne County should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or call the Wayne County Circuit Clerk, P.O. Box 78, Greenville (573-224-5600, ext. 1). Iron County. The same map shades Iron (the January 2024 copy rendered from the Internet Archive and checked again for this widening). It rests on that map alone: no page or order of the circuit's own naming the veterans docket could be read, and Iron County's posted minutes (January to October 2025 and January to September 2026), its 2026 budget and its 2025 financial statement carry no veterans court or treatment court line. The county's Circuit Court contact sheet lists the circuit's judges (Divisions I and II sit in Salem; Associate Circuit Judge Scott J. Schrum, Division III, sits in Ironton) and no treatment docket. An Iron County veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or call the Circuit Clerk (S. Gail White on the county page; Sammye G. White on the contact sheet), 250 S. Main Street, Suite 220, Ironton (573-546-2511; [email protected]). Reynolds County. The same map shades Reynolds (the January 2024 copy rendered from the Internet Archive and checked again for this widening), so the entry now covers every county of the circuit the map shades. It rests on that map alone: Reynolds County has no website, so no circuit page, minutes or budget naming the veterans docket could be read, and web searches for a 42nd Circuit or Reynolds County veterans court order or news report found none. A Reynolds County veteran facing charges should ask a defence lawyer to raise it early, or call the Reynolds County Circuit Clerk-Recorder, P.O. Box 39, Centerville, MO 63633 (573-648-2494, ext. 34), whose office the Missouri Association of Counties' directory lists.
