The county's own site was not readable live: washingtoncountymaine.com answers 403 behind a Cloudflare challenge on the read day, so its pages were read through dated Internet Archive captures instead. The captures carry the county's pages - county commissioners and minutes, budget committee, districts, annual reports, district attorney, emergency management agency, regional communications center, treasurer's office, sheriff's office, registry of deeds and probate - and none names a veteran programme of the county's own. The registry of deeds page lists the documents it records, among them discharges, meaning mortgage discharges, and publishes no DD-214 line; the sheriff's page names no veteran programme.
The board and Unorganized Territories files the Archive holds for October 1, 2025 to October 2026 - 26 PDFs: the commissioners' agendas of November 13 and December 11, 2025 and February 12 (posted twice), March 12, April 9, May 14 and October 8, 2026, the January 29, 2026 commissioners' meeting record, the August 19, 2026 executive-session notice, the April 23, 2026 workshop notice and the workshop agenda it announced, the October 23, 2025 press-conference notice, the October 23, 2025 FY2026 budget workshop, the commissioners' August 5, 2026 FY2027 budget workshop notice, a November 19, 2025 resolution on pre-payments for the county's tax anticipation note, the November 19, 2025 Budget Advisory Committee meeting record, the adopted FY2026 county budget, and the Unorganized Territories' four Machias and four Calais meeting packets - were text-read, fourteen of them image scans read by OCR, and carry no veteran item. The board's own minutes for the year's other meetings and its June to September 2026 agendas are in no capture the Archive holds and the live site refused, so those meetings are unread; the commissioners' office at 85 Court Street, Machias, (207) 255-3127, is the office to ask.
