Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The State programme. The Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs administers the veterans' real estate tax exemption for an honorably discharged veteran with a 100% permanent service-connected rating from VA, wartime service as VA establishes it, ownership and occupancy of the home, and financial eligibility under the State Veterans Commission's guidelines (51 Pa.C.S. 8902 and Title 51 Chapter 89; see the Pennsylvania entries for the amounts, the surviving-spouse route and the Chapter 99 income exclusion). The county's part is the Assessment Office's: the exemption runs through the county whose rolls carry the parcel. How Warren takes it. The county's Assessment page keeps the rolls - "These rolls are located in the Assessment Office in the basement of the Warren County Court House" - and the appeal route ("Any person desiring to appeal their assessment shall file an appeal application, designating the assessment appealed, with the Board of Assessment Appeals"), and publishes no exemption form or deadline of its own; a Warren veteran applies through the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, whose approval comes back to the parcel on the county's roll. Unlike Bradford and some other counties, the Warren County Commissioners' minutes of the year read carry no exemption list of their own - the Assessment Board grants nothing in open session - so the office's route is administrative. Where and who. Assessment Office, 204 Fourth Avenue, Warren, PA 16365; (814) 728-3420. The directory names Brian A. The county's Tax Claim office and the 2018 millages list sit beside it; neither publishes veteran text.
