Where it applies

Written for the jurisdictions listed here.

The county's relationship. The Commissioners Court's consent agenda carries a standing pair of items - "Receive Financial Information from Hearts Veterans Museum" and "Approve payment for Hearts Veterans Museum" (October 20, 2025) - and the October 20, 2025 packet's claims include a $20,000 payment to "HEARTS Veteran5 Museum of Texas" under governmental/services contracts. The county maintains the museum's building: after the flood "at the Veteran's museum that happened over the Thanksgiving holidays" (public comment, December 15, 2025), the Court's December 29, 2025 item was "Update on HEARTS flooding issues", action "Update the County Maintenance assistance with HEARTS Museum", and the March 9, 2026 Court approved a $6,882.98 API invoice "for the investigation and repair of underground fire line with damaged control valve to be paid out of facilities projects fund" (the December-February water-mitigation claims totalled $71,448.19); the February 23, 2026 packet carries the fire-safe contract's "HEART VETERAN'S MUSEUM - INVESTIGATE AND REPAIR UNDERGROUND FIRE LINE WITH DAMAGED CONTROL VALVE" line. The museum sits in the county's lawn-maintenance contract as the "Walker County Storm Shelter - Veterans Museum" site, and the October 19, 2026 packet's claims carry a "Veterans Complex - Remove and replace 1 bottom bar and 9 slats" repair. What it is. The museum is the county's veterans facility at 1987 Veteran Boulevard, Huntsville - the county's insurance schedule lists the address - a HEARTS (Honoring Everyone's American Remembrance, Their Sacrifices) Veterans Museum. What a veteran gets there is the museum's exhibits and events; the county's published records name no further veteran programme inside it. Contact the museum or the county's Maintenance division through the Commissioners Court's office, (936) 436-4900.
