Volusia County Veteran Discounts: Parks, Camping and the Marine Science Center
Under the Volusia Values Veterans programme, veterans get 10% off county park pavilion, camping and community centre rentals, free primitive camping at county preserves in November, and free general admission to the county's Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet.

The Volusia County Council approved the Volusia Values Veterans Program on May 20, 2025. Its county-wide discounts now in place:
Parks. "Veterans receive a 10% discount at Volusia County parks for pavilions, camping, and building/community center rentals." Pavilions are booked online; other reservations through Parks, Recreation and Culture at 386-736-5953. In November, around Veterans Day, veterans camp free at the county's primitive preserve campsites.
Marine Science Center. The county's Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet gives "U.S. military veterans" free individual general admission (adults otherwise pay $8, seniors $7); the free entry is for the veteran only, not guests. A veteran also gets $1 off the $60 family yearly pass.
The programme does not define veteran or set a discharge test; bring a DD-214, VA card or the licence veteran designation. A permit discount, 10% off a building permit fee for a veteran property owner, is also in the plan; ask the permit office whether it is in force.
