The officer referred a veteran facing eviction to the office's resources, "to include the commission", and reported that the State's "Veterans Services Wisconsin Drivers License Veteran Identifier passed" the Legislature (SB387), so that a veteran who "served your initial contract in good standing even during a Peacetime period of service" can get the identifier once it is signed. - February 18, 2026: "Commission: 4 total submissions - 1 Service dog vet and training assistance; 3 heating/electric assistance"; 193 veterans on the active claims sheet, 173 still open; "The WDVA is late on getting the CVSO State grant opened". - March 18, 2026: "Commission; 1 total submissions - 1 travel pay got appointment for VA". - May 20, 2026: "Working 272 Veterans claims down from 282"; the grave flag markers could not be bought "Due to budget constraints", and the State grant was paying a part-time worker on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which "uses the grant up completely". - July 15, 2026: "Motion made to amend prior motion to purchase 100 markers in the amount of $1400 for 2026 using Ho-Chunk Funds ... Motion Carried." - August 19, 2026: the officer raised "funding my 2nd part-time person with tax levy for the 2028 budget cycle", and was to speak with Finance and bring numbers back. No veteran benefit was narrowed or repealed in the minutes read; the Board of Supervisors' minutes carry the committee's elections and no separate veteran action.
